S'Norleans music
June 03, 2005
I was sitting in the yard after supper listening to the grass grow (it's very quiet here) and I realized I could hear a band in the distance. Not as in oompah oompah, but rather thump thump crash, waaah waaah. (Or was that three waahs?) Anyways, grabbed my camera (of course) and went on a search. I ended up walking a block over and then across a baseball diamond and two soccer fields until I got to the source. Some young and exuberant kids, set up in front of the garage, playing to their cheering fans - sitting in couches dragged out of the house. I suspect parents were away. Just had time for one quick shot, in poor light. Fastest I wanted was 1/200, at ISO 800 so I wouldn't get too much noise. Which meant with the D70 "kit" lens f4 - and a dark pic - shown at left.
I used Photoshop elements to see what I could do - with the Quick Edit it was improved pretty easily. I'm sure the Standard Edit would do even better, but I still have to open the manual to do that. Another time. But we do have some interesting music here - especially from across the park.
