ROW80-2 - 04/13 - No more snow?
April 13, 2014
You'd think we were done with winter. Showers again today, snowbanks shrinking as I watch, 23C tomorrow. Oh, wait - drops to near freezing again Tuesday, chance of flurries. Less than 1 cm, but that's not the point. It has been nice weather for walking more, for coffee at a sidewalk cafe, for a cold beer while up against a wall, basking in the sun. And for enjoying the life of the self-employed, with flexible hours.

Editing #2 - with my alpha reader. She's still making lots of changes, but I just glance at each returned section, as I'm still on break.
-
Continue to market first book, KL-1. Brought to my local Chapters, they'll take 10 on consignment. Goes into the regular Fiction area. Targeting a couple more libraries too.

ROW80 check in's - Sunday's here.
-
Reading - Part of being a writer. Book clubs - today we discussed Cockroach. Not sure why it was a Canada Reads Choice - review to follow. Read (again) The Devil's Dust, by local author C. B. Forrest. Review here.
-
How to write - still keeping up to date with writer/editor/publisher blogs I follow. New library book too, Revising and Self-Editing for Publication. Good so far.

Exercise - spring is here. Sort of. Using Map My Walk again to track my wanderings.
-
Band - winter session done, but we're starting a spring session soon.
- Courses - I was doing several MOOC's, but let them slide while editing. Slowly completing them.
-
Other entertainment. Movies/series – still watching the crime series Wallander - UK version.
-
Social - coffee shop, cafe, pubs, grandkids, neighbourhood strolls.
- Volunteer - Ottawa Independent Writers. Trying to set up a series of book reading in local farmer;s market this spring. Also a book stall when we're there. Most fellow writers a little shy about reading in public. Some are bad at it too.
Welcome, spring! Well, sort of. It's supposed to be cold and yucky overnight. Hopefully everything is good tomorrow night as my son is flying in from Saskatchewan.
All the best with your goals for Round 2.
