It's very interesting that others in the colony aren't automatically accepting death anymore, even though that has been the custom. Life always matters, and while some will simply accept their 'fate', some will try to break free from a dark tradition and attempt to begin again elsewhere. I agree that the story could end here, but I hope it doesn't. There's so much more story to be told. The struggles and unexpected support are nice. The ending that is solid enough to be done but could also be continued is a good touch.</p>
