Conqueror - Paris - 7.9km
March 21, 2023
A bigger chunk was added yesterday, here in Ottawa I walked down to the local library and back. Not a lot for some, but I needed a serious snack after, so bought a bag of mixed nuts. They were only healthy-ish, as this was way more calories than I'd used up! Meanwhile, back in Paris, the little lake was left behind and I headed east across the busy Bd. de Peripherique.
More greenery, as I turned south, past the Madagascar Embassy and through the Jardin de Ranelagh. With walking paths, sculptures, puppet theatre, and pony rides. And an insect hotel.
East next, along Chau. de Muette, in the 16th arrondissement now, a wealthy area. With a dawdle at Andia for a Latin American snack.
East still, along Rue de Passy. Shops.
Cafes at every corner, of course. And to the right, a MacDonalds, in case you have an urge for Le Big Mac.
Right at Place du Costa Rica, then down Rue Raynoaurd. Skinny streets, old buildings, expensive apartments. Probably not that exciting a walk for a casual tourist.
Then finally a break, with a big complex on the left - Radio France and Grand Auditorium.
SE now, along Rue de Boulainvilliers, toward the Seine. And our stop, on Pont de Grenelle, heading toward the 15th arrondissement. With a famous tower in the distance.
